Initiatives
AWN's core initiatives are designed to empower Asian women through career development, entrepreneurship support, mental health care, and financial inclusion. Together, they aim to build a resilient, prosperous, and healthy community of Asian women leaders and entrepreneurs.
Our current focus is on establishing four core initiatives
Initiative01
Mentorship Program
To create structured peer-to-peer and senior-junior mentoring relationships that accelerate professional growth, leadership readiness, and confidence for member women across industries.
- Core Components
- A pairing platform, cohort-based programs, one-to-one mentor matches, monthly group workshops, and skills clinics covering resume reviews, interview practice, and negotiation.
- Eligibility & Matching
- Enrollment is membership-based, using a short intake form to capture each applicant's goals, experience, and preferred mentoring style. Matches are made through a mix of algorithmic pairing and committee review to ensure alignment.
- Training & Support
- Mentors receive an orientation, goal-setting templates, and regular progress check-ins, along with a small stipend or formal recognition for active participation.
- Outcome Focus
- Career advancement, leadership readiness, stronger confidence, and an expanded professional network.
Initiative02
Digital Marketplace for Asian Female Entrepreneurs
To provide a dedicated online marketplace that showcases products and services from Asian female entrepreneurs, expanding market access and strengthening economic independence.
- Platform Features
- Curated storefronts, verified member badges, seller toolkits covering pricing, photography, and fulfillment guidance, and integrated payment and shipping options.
- Marketing & Curation
- Rotating featured-seller spotlights, seasonal campaigns, partnerships with influencers and local retailers, and community-curated product bundles.
- Capacity Building
- E-commerce training, legal and tax clinics, branding workshops, and micro-grants to support product development.
- Consumer Trust & Safety
- Clear seller policies, responsive customer support, verified reviews, and fraud protection to maintain a high-quality marketplace experience.
Initiative03
Safe Space for Mental Health Awareness & Support
To reduce stigma and provide culturally competent mental health resources, peer support, and referral pathways tailored to the experiences of Asian women.
- Services Offered
- Moderated peer-support groups, confidential one-on-one listening sessions, workshops on stress management and resilience, and a resource hub connecting members with therapists and community services.
- Cultural Competency
- Content and facilitators who understand cultural norms, language preferences, intergenerational dynamics, and immigration-related stressors.
- Access & Confidentiality
- Anonymous channels such as chat or phone, clearly documented privacy practices, and partnerships offering low-cost or pro-bono counselling.
- Awareness & Prevention
- Public awareness campaigns, mental-health-first-aid training for volunteers, and outreach to employers to help create more supportive workplaces.
Initiative04
UAN SACCO
To build financial resilience among members through a member-owned cooperative offering savings, low-interest loans, and small-business financing for entrepreneurs and households.
- Core Services
- Regular savings accounts, emergency micro-loans, business startup loans, and group lending options.
- Governance & Membership
- Democratic member voting, transparent financial reporting, and leadership development within the SACCO to ensure long-term sustainability and trust.
- Financial Education

Impact Framework
Cross-Initiative Integration
To maximize impact, the network integrates these initiatives into one aligned member journey, moving participants from skills and confidence building toward market access and financial resilience.
Onboarding
A single intake process identifies each member's needs, whether career, business, wellbeing, or finance, and routes them into the relevant programs.
Pathways
Mentorship, the Digital Marketplace, and SACCO financing combine into one pathway for entrepreneurs preparing to scale.
Data & Evaluation
Anonymized member dashboards track outcomes and surface areas for improvement, while respecting member privacy.
Sustainability
Diversified revenue, including membership fees, marketplace commissions, grant funding, and SACCO retained earnings, supports long-term sustainability.
